It’s been a while since I shared my Gratitude’s here so after spending some time looking for my most “out-of-the-box” gratitude of the past I thought I’d take a few minutes to update with today’s 10 things.

I am so thankful for my precious baby boy. I was so proud of you today! Baby Boy performed in a musical production put together by his school. He sung lots of songs and did the actions. I felt such pride and joy watching his face light up with smiles and listening to his little voice stumbling over the words. You tried your hardest and enjoyed yourself which is the whole point. I’m looking forward to watching you again tomorrow.

Today I again give thanks to my family. Thank you to my mother and stepfather, sister, and brother-in-law for taking the time to support my little man. Your attendance tonight meant the world to me and I’m sure it meant as much to him. It was a pleasure to be able to share this with you and while I can’t imagine anyone could have enjoyed it as much as I, his doting mother, I hope you enjoyed the experience.

Thank you my beautiful daughter. You were a great big sister today and I think your little brother was very pleased to have you watching him perform. I also appreciate all your help around the house. Your assistance allowed me to get things finished up here and still manage to meet time restraints. I’m also very thankful for your bright mind and your personal integrity and initiative. When you chose to spend time completing your homework I was proud of your sense of responsibility, that you accomplished such excellent results is inspiring.

Thank you for cool things to drink. Today was warm and muggy. I am very thankful for the fluids I could drink to replace the water within my body, to cool me and refresh me. Sometimes the simplest sips are nectar.

Thank you to the universe that gives me the messages I need to hear, exactly when I’m ready to hear them. I’m thrilled to be reminded of the significance my Gratitude Journal has played in the past and glad to have this opportunity to return to it.

I truly appreciate the wonderful people who attended Tarot Chat today. The energy was vibrant and uplifting. Exactly what I needed to help bouy me through these next few days. I’ve been feeling the downward spiral of my Bipolar swing and am truly grateful for the boost that helped me through today and inspires me for tomorrow.

I’d like to give gratitude to the teachers and staff at my childrens’ school. You’re dedication, creativity, and passion make me very glad that you play a part on my childrens’ lives. Tonight you proved that with hard work and commitment you can pull together hundreds of children into a cohesive unit. I can’t begin to imagine the work that must have been involved in getting this production together and I think you’ve done a fantastic job. You’re leaving an impact on the lives of these children that will last a lifetime. Thank you for allowing me and my family to be a part of it.

I give thanks for the roof over my head tonight, for fly screens that keep out the bugs, for an air cooling system that restores a chill to formerly muggy air, for blankets to stave off that chill, for a safe place to sleep, for lockable doors and windows, for a place to call my own and hang my hat. I am truly thankful.

Thank you to all the friends who touched my social circle today. No matter how small or large a part you played in my life today, you matter and I would be a lesser person without you.

I’m struggling tonight and I suspect it’s because I’m tired. So, perhaps, my final gratitude should go to a full and busy day. Today, I proved that I can accomplish great things, that I can pull things together in an orderly way, and that it doesn’t have to be perfect. Even rushed we got things done well and I think, in not being concerned about getting it ‘just right’ or ‘just so’ I was able to enjoy the moments that matter all the more.

Recently, Tom Weber from Deliver Freedom asked readers: What 5 things would You do if Time and Money were of no concern? The Deliver Freedom Newsletter often asks fantastic questions and Octobers is no exception. Below are MY 5 things, what are yours?

1. I’d spend more time reading.
There is so much I want to read, from inspirational books, fiction novels, newsletters, magazines, newspapers, and everything on the internet. There is an abundance of information and education available but never enough time to read everything of interest.

2. I’d travel around the world.
I would really love the opportunity to visit Ireland and explore more of the USA. I have friends around the world I’d like to visit; cultures I’d like to experience; climates I can only imagine; exotic foods to taste; and so much more!

3. I’d establish a write colony.
I’ve always dreamed of creating a haven for writers. I see a small community-style resort setting designed to provide all a writer needs to immerse themselves in craft, creativity, and inspired purpose. I’d like to host workshops and social gatherings, provide scholarships, and play a part in the success of thousands of writers from around the world.

4. I’d experience more with my children.
There are so many things I want to share and show my little ones. I’d love to be able to give my daughter the horse riding lessons she craves and build the ranch of her dreams. I’d love to immerse my son in a range of activities to discover what he is truly passionate about and help him achieve his full potential. With existing time and money limitations the best I can do is provide unwaivering support and encouragement which I suppose is good. It teaches them to put in the hard work to accomplish their goals for themselves. But it would feel incredible to be able to give them all they could desire from life, to make their lives remarkable and fulfilled.

5. I’d work more on my physical health and mental wellbeing.
I know the theory, eat healthy, balanced meals, get regular execise, meditate, contemplate, and enrich your mental and spiritual self. But sometimes I’m just too exhausted to do more than toss a frozen meal into the oven and curl up for a nap. So much happens in every day that sometimes these simple, vital aspects of living well stumble down the list of priorities and are neglected.

What 5 things would You do if Time and Money were no concern?

I want to give special thanks to my friends and family who new when to be there, when to back off, and when to ride the horses this week. I truly appreciate each and every one of you and the role you play in my life. I’ve had bad days, I’ve had good days, and I can honestly say that each of you have lead me into more good days than I might otherwise have had. Thank you!

My son and daughter, I love you both and give my thanks for you and to you every single day. You are my beacon, my lighthouse, my apex, my fulcrum, my axis, my central point. My world revolves around you and spins because of you. Some days, you two are the strongest tie that keeps me pushing, keeps me breathing, keeps me moving forward. For you both I would pull the stars from the sky and for you both I give you all the best of this world and the infinite possibility of your futures.

Mum, you deserve special gratitude, your loving support and your get it done attitude have helped push me out of more slumps then I could contemplate. Somehow, you know when to push and when not to. We compliment each other and I’ve noticed we are also very alike in some ways. Thank you for being my best friend.

Thank you Richelle Mead for a fantastic series in Vampire Academy. I love your gripping characters and the intriguing twists you give to Vampire hierarchy. Thank you for giving me a weekend in the head of Rose instead of my own. Of course, I thank you even more for making it in book form so that I’m not REALLY in her head at all because I know I certainly wouldn’t have her strength and courage but was thrilled to see her world through her eyes.

Thank you Libra for products that work. I have a monthly visitor, I’m not too fond of her to be honest, but you help me get through the few days of her unwelcome stay and I appreciate your loyal dependability.

*grins* And since I just thanked a sanitary brand name I’m actually going to give thanks to my monthly visitor too. Making you welcome can be challenging but you know, I am truly grateful for this cycle because it was to the day regular and is a sign of my continued fertility. Since I would like to have another baby I am thankful for the hormones that continue to regular my feminine functionability.

Thank you to everyone involved in the fast food, baked goods, and chocolate industries. I know I shouldn’t each junk but I can forgive myself for lapsing into comfort foods when I really need the buffer, the mask, the sense of control and power that choosing to eat rebelliously gives me.

OMG! HUGE big thank you to my new neighbour! I truly appreciate you taking a moment to let me know the boot of my car was still open. Your caring and consideration are deeply appreciated. Your courage to come forward, your integrity, and the service is truly honorable and I give gratitude to you and give thanks for having been blessed to have such a lovely woman living next door.

Thank you Michele Tune for your fantastic responses in your interview and for all the promotion you do for WritersRoundAbout. I also give thanks in similar strain to Mysti and Dawn who have all provided content that contributed to our burgeoning subscriber rate! New high of 104! WOO HOO!

Finally, I want to acknowledge a wonderful, caring, giving, courageous, and very special woman, Myself. Please, don’t think I’m conceited today. I honestly NEED to tell myself this in this moment because this week and even now my heart and mind have been shrouded in the darkness of my depression. In these gloomy moments it is important I appreciate the wonder and amazement of each breath I take. Rebecca, you do incredible things, you are truly remarkable and given the challenges you face, particularly the chemical imbalance induced emotional minefield you continue to amaze me. You are so much more than you can begin to see today and you have come so far from the person you have been in the past. Your continued growth and personal development and your courage to keep pushing forward, to keep learning, growing, and experiencing are traits of which you should be truly proud. Thank you, for being you and for being all you can be in this moment and all you will be in the next.

I took a tumble from the Accomplishments and Gratitude bandwagon this week. I’m trying not to beat myself up about it too much but you know, this sense of ‘failure’ or ‘let down’ is pretty vicious. It is so hard to get back on board because of those nasty little know-it-all voices in my head. But that’s what you’ve got to do right?

So, I acknowledge my lapse. Despite fluctuating moods, terrible eating habits, and lack of sleep, I forgive myself. I am emotional creature and I am still learning to control the swing of my emotions, I am still learning how to maintain momentum despite inner turmoil, I am imperfect, and that is perfectly ok.

But, since it’s been a week, how about I go over specifically any of the more significant accomplishments this week. Yes, I dropped the ball in acknowledging my accomplishments but, even in my depressed, low cycle, I achieved:

Friday to Sunday I took it easy on myself, I let myself experience my Bipolar low under my comforter. I read the first three Vampire Academy books and watched a few movies and the first two episodes of Vampire Diaries. I’m on a Vampire kick at the moment but I haven’t quite sunk to Buffy levels yet. lol

On Monday, despite being very tempted to ‘call in sick’ I dragged myself out of bed, got dressed, and attended my weekly meeting with one of my favorite client/friends. Working together with her does amazing things for my energy and motivation and I knew in pushing myself to go beyond my perceived Bipolar limit that day, and knowing it was day 4 the turning trend of my low I could convince myself and empower myself to get out of the lull I’d given into all weekend and take action.

I followed up Monday afternoon, Tuesday morning, and some of Wednesday with a spatter of work related tweaks and tasks. Such as purchasing and inserting the photographs into HairDesignAustralia.com’s site design and writing a follow up email to that client, and I ran my hands through several of my web projects but can’t actually remember what I did when except to know that I DID accomplish quite a bit with all of those projects.

I have spent time this week on the development and promotion of WritersRoundAbout.com and embraced the growing excitement that comes with the increase in traffic.

I did the monthly maintenance on one of my client sites, cleared over 400 spam messages, updated Wordpress, updated plugins, etc.

Tuesday I again left the house, this time to have lunch with my mother and grandmother. It was lovely and relaxed which was perfect and I enjoy our time together.

Tuesday afternoon I took the kids to the park for half an hour between end of school and start of their 3rd term Learning Journey. We had some fun playing in the new playground before they showed me around their classrooms and shared what they had been learning this term.

Wednesday, Mum and I pulled up carpet from baby boy’s bedroom. We’re thinking of laying wood laminates in the three bedrooms and getting the carpet out is the first stage of that DIY process.

Thursday, I participated in Tarot Chat. Was a wonderful session and it was great to see new faces. Perhaps our reach and influence is growing.

I took Mum out to lunch after that and treated the kids (and her) to icecream after school.

Today I spend some quality time with the kids. Baby boy wasn’t feeling well this morning and being the last day of school before mid-semester holidays I decided to let them both stay home. We had extra snuggles and maybe I spoiled them a little but it felt warm and loving, relaxed and caring. It felt right to give today to that experience and not pressure myself to do more than me Mom.

See, so while I might not have been able to build my nerve enough to post my accomplishments each evening this week, I can acknowledge these, as just some of what I achieved this week.

I’d like to begin by giving my gratitude to my mother. You did more for me today that I had even considered asking and I truly appreciate that. Thank you for offering to sew the blankets together but thank you even more for doing the dishes I’d left in the sink when I went out tonight. It might not seem like a great deal but I truly appreciate this small thing above many big things you might have done and even more so in that you did it without my prompting or asking. Thank you also for all you do when I ask. Your love and support mean more to me than you could ever imagine.

My sister, I thank you for committing to Swing Dancing and for inviting me to join you. I’ve said before that it is not something I would have chosen to do for myself and it is definitely no something I’d ever do by myself. But, although I face conflict most weeks about going I am always thankful when I do. The energy, enthusiasm and social stimulus more than makes up for the drive (in fine weather). I also appreciate the time we have together on these evenings, it’s companionable and I recognize your own enjoyment and love being around that energy.

I’d like to offer thanks to my baby boys teachers. I understand he fell asleep in class today and that you allowed (while class activities permitted) him to stay asleep. I don’t understand what might be causing his unusual lethargy but I am deeply thankful that you chose to accommodate him in this way. I give great gratitude to your instinctive choice to simply let him sleep rather than raising concerns or even calling me. Yes, I could have taken him home as unwell but we all know that he has missed a great deal of class due to illness and angst this year, he begins each day at a disadvantage due to his learning difficulties, and since there is no obvious illness there is no real reason to do more thank monitor him carefully for signs of change. I appreciate your consideration to these matters and your choices on this occasion.

I am thankful for my beautiful daughter, she is wise, caring, gentle, and intelligent. I love that she takes care of her little brother. The image of your arm wrapped carefully around his shoulders is one I always cherish and never tire of. I can’t recall a big sister who has ever been so dedicated to the safety and happiness of her little brother and I truly appreciate having you as my special little girl.

Thank you to the people at the Swing Dance Academy for putting together fantastic lessons each and ever week. Our classes are growing in number and I know it is in part because more Perthites are learning about how wonderful you are as teachers and how much fun you make swing dancing. I appreciate the time and effort you put into making each class special, challenging, and enjoyable.

Thank you to the universe for green lights. I felt like I had more than normal balance of green lights today and given my mindset while driving I truly appreciate this abundance. I also give thanks for long pauses, and for the message that reminded me that it’s ok to be unusually cautious on the road, “There is no place I could choose to be that is worth my life to get there.”

I am grateful for the raggedness of baby boy’s school bag. It’s showing age and wear reminded me that the Royal Show is coming up soon. How are the two connected most might wonder? Well, each year we usually choose at showbag each that is more than plastic and sweets, we choose one that comes with a new backpack amongst the other goodies. In this way the kids tend to have a new school bag each year and as baby boy’s is current bag is getting worn it comes as good news that the Royal Show is just nine days away.

I’d like to give my thanks to all those who served me in some way today. From the people inside Chicken Treat where I ordered take away dinner for the family to those who work in ways I cannot see but touch my life without my knowing.

I truly appreciate this opportunity to give thanks. I’m stretched thin on my gratitude tonight and struggling to find ten things for which I can be truly grateful but in seeking harder I know there are things that might not seem significant for which I am thankful, and this opportunity to give thanks is definitely one. That I can read and write, that I can type, that I have access to the internet, that I have friends who will support me, that I have this place to come, and in so many other ways for all that make this possible. Thank you!

Finally, thank you for wind, and earth, and water, and fire. The combination creates the abundant world around me. This world is rich with opportunity and growth. I truly appreciate all that is given freely by the universe to all those who live within its bounds and beyond. I appreciate my physical existence and give gratitude for all the elements that aid and encourage that existence to shape and mold into its fullest potential.

Have you ever come to the end of a day and known there is just one last thing to do before bed but felt the tiredness washing over you tugging against your will to do as you know is best for you, to do as your integrity and sense of purpose would have you choose to do?

Today, I push against that resistance, reaffirming my commitment to personal growth and development. I keep this promise to myself, because I am worth it, it holds true to the values I want to instill in my life, and because in choosing to hold to this accountability I strengthen the muscles of my will and resolve which in turn makes it easier to stay the course next time I feel the temptation to waver.

Today, I:

Spent two hours dancing! I have a great time swing dancing but it can be difficult to convince myself to go because it is about an 1 hour to get there and then an hour home again. This is four hours of every Thursday evening, doing something I generally would not have chosen to do for myself, but something I know builds relationship with my sister and that I truly do feel uplifted and enlivened after doing.

Participated in Future-Tarot’s weekly chat. Had a great time talking with Mysti, Miss Michele, and PlaidEarthworm.

Co-read two Tarot readings with Miss Michele. One for Mysti and one for PlaidEarthworm. It was fulfilling to be able to help them both rediscover their passion, touch that aspect of themselves they had been letting fall dormant and reinspire them to push for their dreams. THIS is why Miss Michele and I do this!

Played Plant Tycoon, enjoying this game despite knowing it chews up a fair portion of my time.

Checked in on Plurk – Not too thrilled by the ‘conversation’ going on there at the moment but I suspect that is mostly because my interests and focuses are elsewhere, on grander things than the mundane of every day living.

Checked in and progressed on Evony. This game is again another time consumer and not particularly challenging. But I’m addicted, at least for the moment, and at least my towns are growing.

Received my new battery in the mail. Oh, pretty, black, fat new battery.

Checked to see if the photocopy aspect of my printer works even without the printer installed or even plugged into a computer. It does!

Gave extra loving attention to my baby boy. He’s been unwell each evening this week. It’s a strange kind of ailment where he seems fine in the morning, is NOT fine in the afternoon after school (tired, running hot, feeling cold). I’m going to keep a closer eye on him to see if I can track down a cause. Maybe I should check his blood sugar levels.

Encouraged and assisted my daughter with her math homework. She’s better at math than I am so to be honest she’s teaching me but I enjoy being able to reaffirm her enjoyment of the subject and her sense of worth and value in knowing all she knows and learning all she learns.

Spent time with my mother. Companionable, no pressure time.

Did extensive keyword research on two current projects. Still struggling to come up with an effective angle on one but I know it is there, I just need to dig a little deeper to find it.

Installed WordPress on an existing but inactive domain name.

Installed Themes and Plugins on this new WordPress, created a database, activated the site, created a new user account, activated plugins and themes and set some of the site settings.

Ensured Thursday’s WRA blog post launched as scheduled.

Spent time searching for and eventually finding a piece of paperwork I had been ‘keeping safe’ for my sister. *rolls eyes* Ever think you left it someplace only to discover you left it someplace else?

Listened to about two hours of “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” still loving this book. I MUST write a book review!

Got my business bookkeeping back under control after losing the past few months records while transitioning from one laptop to another. 3 months worth of income and expenses needed to be tracked and recorded. Thankfully, I keep those details close to hand and it was really just data entry. Still, lesson learned again, backup, backup, backup!

Spent some time examining my current situation. At the moment it is only in stage one planning, all in my head while I nail out exactly which direction I want my life to take, what my end-goal currently is, and how I can most effectively set about making that end-goal a reality.

Fought and won against the resistance that reared trying to convince me I didn’t need to do this tonight. Felt amazing for having followed through despite that resistance and, although still very tired and ready for bed, feeling very positive about all I accomplished today.
